A luxurious, yet intriguingly edgy addition to the world of jewellery, ‘Violet Darkling’ is a clever combination of wit, imagination and sophistication.
Violet Darkling is the alter ego of New Zealand born designer Louisa Richwhite. Inspired by the ‘darkness’ and all things nocturnal, her outdoor roots and quirky humor, along with a desire to make life a little more magical has created a cutting-edge first collection.
Growing up on a secluded island off the coast of New Zealand allowed ‘Violets’ creativity & imagination to run free. Indulging in painting, reading and studying art, her nights staying up late telling ghost stories around the fire influenced her imagination and experimentation as an artist from a young age.
Richwhite’s unique ability to transport us back to our childhood is told through her first collection, where she reminds us of the fears, the magic, and fascination with ‘creatures of the night’. The skull of a wide-eyed Tarsier & the unfamiliar Fossa are adorned with colorful gemstones.
Rings, necklaces, bracelets and cufflinks, all originally sculpted in various gold’s dripping in rubies and diamonds are key statement pieces that are collective items in their own right.
These gorgeous pieces can be bought online at Violet Darkling or if you happen to be in London then at Wolf and Badger from August 1st onwards (46 Ledbury Road) or if you’re sunning on the French Riviera then pop on over to The Box,  10 rue de la Citadelle, 83990 Saint Tropez. Either way these are a must!
