Ella, from Iceland, has just released images of their Spring Summer ’12 collection. This is their second collection and for Spring Summer ’12 Ella has stayed true to their ideals of quality and traceability. The idea of accountability is becoming more common in fashion, as in our recent interview with Bruno Pieters.
The Spring Summer ’12 collection is largely inspired by Sophia Loren in Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow – a film from 1963. The images in the look book stay true to this inspiration, as seen below (which was shot by Silja Magg).
Ella’s pieces are created in limited numbers and are made in Iceland. A number of pieces from the collection have been worked with silk – which is all hand dyed in Iceland. There are various diffusions from the main line – but the collections stay cohesive.
Stocked in Reykjavik, Myrin (a design store) and online – it’s only a matter of time before Ella is stocked in London.
