Yayoi Kusama at the Tate Modern

It’s December and we’re already looking forward to February. No, not for Valentine’s Day (or the movie that will undoubtedly be released about it), but for the Yayoi Kusama retrospective that has been planned at the Tate Modern.

Louis Vuitton is a main supporter of the exhibition and this is not their first foray into the arts. Previous collaborations have been nothing short of a success, which leads us to think at Livin Cool that Yayoi Kusama will be a key exhibition to go to in 2012.

Kusama says ‘Polka dots are a way to infinity’, they are also a key feature of Kusama’s work. Kusama creates ‘Infinity Rooms’ and her largest one so far is reported to be a part of the exhibition.

Throughout the exhibition there will also be an exhibition space at the Louis Vuitton Maison on Bond Street. There will also be various events throughout the exhibition, which runs until June, 2012.

The exhibition is described as a series of ‘immersive environments’ on the press release. Which makes it sound like it will be a sequence of experiences. There will also be a mix of media throughout the exhibition, which will be sure to show the versatility of Kusama as an artist.

By the way, not only is Kusama an artist, she is also a writer. The woman really can do everything. Experience it.
