Posted on 03.19.12 to art by Giuseppe Alagna

The Royal Academy of Arts presents David Hockney’s retrospective, England’s greatest living painter. A Bigger Picture wants to present Hockney as a lifelong landscape artist. The exhibition, a love letter to the artist’s native Yorkshire, includes the work made especially for the Royal Academy,

the Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, Easy Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty-eleven), a display of his iPad drawings printed out on a bigger scale and a series of new films produced using 18 cameras, displayed on multiple screens providing a visual journey through the eyes of David Hockney.
